Giles Whiting serves as the Baton Rouge Area Chamber's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Giles manages the organization's day-to-day operations, directs the internal management of BRAC's annual business plan, and guides the implementation of The Creative Capital Agenda, BRAC's five-year strategic plan. Giles joined BRAC after working in the private equity industry in Boston. Prior to that role, he spent four years in New York as an engagement manager with McKinsey & Company. While at McKinsey, Giles focused on infrastructure and economic development. He worked on a variety of projects around the world to develop and implement economic strategic plans. His work there led him to be selected for top honors at McKinsey's global Practice Olympics. Originally from South Carolina, Giles obtained his undergraduate degree and graduated as a Distinguished Graduate from the United States Air Force Academy, where he studied physics and mathematics. He went on to study at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government where he was selected as a Presidential Scholar.
