
BRAC leads and supports a variety of community and volunteer initiatives designed to improve the competitiveness of the Baton Rouge area. Listed below are BRAC's priority economic development initiatives for 2006.
- Conduct Baton Rouge Area Leadership to educate and develop young community leaders
- Implement an Urban Forestry Program to improve the aesthetics of our region's urban areas
- Work with LSU to improve its technology transfer efforts, improving the ability of LSU to positively impact our regional economy
- Design and conduct a political training institute to educate newly elected public officials and newly appointed boards and commission members
- Support litigation efforts to ensure that the Baton Rouge area isn't required to implement costly, ineffective programs to achieve ozone air quality standards
- Support Teacher of the Year awards to encourage excellence in teaching in our region's public schools
