Auditions will consist of 32 bars of a prepared song in the style of but not from, the show (think jazz/vaudeville). An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your own sheet music. Jazz or character shoes are encouraged but not required for dance auditions. Please make sure you wear shoes that you are able to dance in. You will receive an email Saturday evening notifying you if you will be needed for dance auditions. Reading/Acting auditions will be held during callbacks.

*Please bring a picture of yourself with you. YOU DON’T NEED A FORMAL HEADSHOT. Something shot with your cell phone and printed in black and white is fine. This is simply a tool to help us keep organized during auditions, but it is necessary that you bring a picture.*

Show Summary:

Winner of 4 Tony Awards, the 1998 revival of Cabaret is stunning. The scene is the Kit Kat Klub, a night club in Berlin, as the 1920s are drawing to a close. The Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to the show and assures them that, whatever their troubles, they will forget them at the Cabaret. Cliff, a young American writer, meets Ernst, a German who surprises Cliff by putting his briefcase among Cliff’s luggage at the German border. Later at the club, Cliff meets the young, beautiful Sally Bowles, and they begin a passionate relationship that leads to many complications. Musical numbers include Willkommen, Cabaret, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, The Money Song and Two Ladies. When we revisit the Klub at the end, much is changed, and show ends with a stark foreshadowing of things to come.
